A woven textile shade in ink-blue sits on top, capped with a brass-toned finial. Because each base is hand-wound, the depth of the ombre gradation shifts slightly from piece to piece.
The base is wrapped in tightly braided jute, coil upon coil, and finished with an ombre wash that graduates from pale grey-blue at the neck to deep slate at the widest point. The braided rows create a ribbed, tactile surface with a matte finish and faint sheen on the raised ridges.
