A standard U.S. Queen mattress measures 60 × 80 inches; a King measures 76 × 80 inches. A Queen can work in a room around 10 × 10 feet, while a King often works better around 12 × 12 feet or larger.
These are planning starting points. Measure the bed frame’s complete outer dimensions, allow for nightstands, and test doors, drawers and walking space before choosing.
