About This Piece
This is a porcelain vase with a volcanic glaze that bubbles and pocks across the surface, leaving a coarse, crater-textured finish in a deep charcoal tone. Each piece is individually slip-cast and hand-glazed, so the crater pattern shifts from vase to vase. Because the glaze is not water-tight, it is designed for dried arrangements only: dried grasses, seed heads, or a single preserved stem work well. It comes in three silhouettes, Round, Tall Bottle, and Small Bottle, that share the same finish and sit naturally together as a group.
The exterior is finished with a volcanic glaze that bubbles and pocks during firing, producing a coarse, pitted surface with visible craters and raised texture throughout. No two pieces share the same surface pattern. Available in Round, Tall Bottle, and Small Bottle shapes. All three share the same deep charcoal crater-glaze treatment, so they work on a shelf individually or grouped as a set. The glaze is not water-tight.
