About This Piece

These nutcracker figures are shaped from repurposed book pages — folded, dyed, and assembled into the classic soldier silhouette. Black-painted pages form the hat and legs, cream book-text pages make the face, and red-dyed paper fans out as the uniform jacket. Small wood dowels serve as arms. Available in three sizes, they work solo or grouped as a set on a mantel, bookshelf, or entryway table.

Because each figure is formed from actual book pages, the visible type and page texture varies slightly from piece to piece — no two are identical.

Styling note

A little guidance from our edit

Group all three sizes together on a fireplace mantel or bookshelf for the most impact. Tuck them among actual books for an extra layer of the joke.
